VW SERVICE SCHEDULE

OIL CHANGE AND FILTER SERVICE EVERY 5,000 MILES
  1. AdBlue Fluid: Check fluid level (add if necessary).
  2. Airbag system: Perform visual inspection (Every year regardless of kilometers).
  3. Brake pads: Check brake pad thickness.
  4. Diesel particle filter: Check ash content within the filter. Replace the filter if ash content is greater than .46 liters(3.0L TDI engine only and 117,000 miles only)
  5. Engine: Change oil and replace oil filter.
  6. Headlights: Check cleaning nozzle functionality (if applicable).
  7. Rear Window: check cleaning nozzle functionality (if applicable).
  8. Service Interval Display: Reset (if applicable).
  9. Service sticker: Enter the date of the next service on the service sticker and apply to the driver's side door pillar.
  10. Tires: Rotate front and rear.
  11. Windshield: Check cleaning nozzle functionality.
  12. Wiper Blades: Check functionality.
 

18000 Miles, 54,000 Miles, 90,000 Miles
  1. AdBlue Fluid: Check fluid level (add if necessary).
  2. Air filter element: Replace and clean housing (if applicable and 54,000 miles only).
  3. Battery: Check.
  4. Brakes: Inspect brake system for leaks and damage, check thickness of brake pads and check brake fluid level.
  5. Brake fluid: Change fluid (New Beetle Only and 18,000 miles only).
  6. Convertible roof: Check latch (if applicable and 18,000 miles only).
  7. Dust and Pollen Filter: Replace (if applicable and 18,000 miles only).
  8. Engine: Change oil and replace oil filter.
  9. Fuel filter: Replace (2.0L TDI only).
  10. Fuel filter: Drain Water (3.0L TDI only).
  11. Headlights: Check cleaning nozzle functionality (if applicable).
  12. Rear Window: check cleaning nozzle functionality (if applicable).
  13. Second Battery: Check (if applicable).
  14. Service Interval Display: Reset (if applicable).
  15. Service sticker: Enter the date of the next service on the service sticker and apply to the driver's side door pillar.

  9. Timing Belt: Replace (if applicable and 99,000 miles only)
  10. Tires: Rotate front and rear.

  7. Convertible roof: Check for function and damage. Clean and lubricate (if applicable).
  8. CV joints: Check for leaks and damage.
  9. Diesel particule filter: Check (108,000 miles only)
  10. Door check: Lubricate.
  11. Engine: Change oil and oil filter.
  12. Engine and engine compartment components: Check (from Above) for leaks and damage.
  13. Engine and engine compartment components: Check (from Below) for leaks and damage, check transmission, final drive, and drive shaft boots.
  14. Exhaust system: Check for leaks, damage and secure fittings.
  15. Fuel filter: Replace (2.0L TDI only)
  16. Fuel filter: Replace (3.0L TDI only)
  17. Haldex clutch: change oil (if applicable).
  18. Headlights: Check cleaning nozzle functionality (if applicable).
  19. Headlights: Check Adjustment.
  20. Interior and glove box lights, cigarette lighter / power outlets, horn, and all warning lamps: Check.
  21. Power steering: Check oil level (if applicable).
  22. Rear window: Check cleaning nozzle functionality (if applicable).
  23. Retractable hard top: Check for function and damage (if applicable).
  24. Ribbed V-belt: Check condition.
  25. Second battery: Check (if applicable).
  26. Service Interval Display: Reset (if applicable).
  27. Service sticker: Enter the date of the next service on the service sticker and apply to the driver's side door pillar.
  28. Spark plugs: Replace (2.5L, 3.6L, and 4.2L)
  29. Spark plugs: Replace (All 2.0L and 108,000 miles only).
  30. Sunroof: Check, clean, and lubricate (if applicable).
  31. Test drive and final check.
  32. Tie rod ends: Check for excessive play, check boots.
  33. Timing Belt: Replace (2.0L TDI and 108,000 miles only)
  34. Tires: Check tread depth, condition, wear pattern and pressure of all tires (including spare).
  35. Tires: Rotate front and rear.
  36. Tire mobility kit: Replace tire filler bottle (36,000 miles only).
  37. Transmission: Automatic: change fluid and filter.
  38. Transmission: DSG: Change fluid and filter.
  39. Underbody sealant: Inspect for damage.
  40. Windshield: Check cleaning nozzle functionality.
  41. Windshield and headlight washer systems: Check function and fluid level (add if necessary), and inspect for damage.
  42. Wiper blades: Check functionality.
 

Every year
  1. Perform visual check of airbag system.
 

Every 2 years
  1. Replace dust and pollen filter (if applicable).
  2. Check latch for convertible roof (if applicable).
  3. Check and observe the date on the tire filler bottle in the tire mobility kit.
  4. Change brake fluid (New Beetle only).
 

Every 3 years
  1. Change Brake Fluid (Touareg, Eos, Passat, Jetta models, GTI, Rabbit, Tiguan, and Passat CC).
 

Every 4 years
  1. Replace tire filler bottle in tire mobility kit (observe expiration date).
 

Every 6 years
  1. Replace spark plugs.
  2. Change air filter element and clean housing (if applicable).
